Place 2025

We're back this year with plans on creating an awesome artwork during the gommehd.net r/place event. During this approximately 2-week timespan we rely on community support to build and defend our area and keep it in a good state until the end. Everyone helping will receive the place 2025 cape to show their engagement.

In a Nutshell

Lightweight

We've created the option to toggle builtin content-packs as you like, to easily choose which features you need, and simply disable anything that's not important for you. This way, you game doesn't get bloated or filled with unused features

Simple

Everything is kept in a simple well-known Minecraft-Style with an intuitive design to minimize any complex or hard to understand UIs or features. Most things should be self-explaning, detailed information on specific topics are on our Features Page.

Customizable

Almost everything can be easily customized - from settings, accent color to chat prefix and almost no features are forcefully present. In the near future, Cactus will also support modifying any UI in simple ways using self-made userscripts.

Maintained

Cactus is actively being maintained and developed, feature requests are taken into consideration and frequently added - we build Cactus on the ideas and suggestions of our community. If you find any bugs - please report them so we're able to fix them

Dynamic content

Using content packs you can enable and disable most of the built-in features. This allows you to customize almost everything as you like, choosing what you need and what not.

Not everything is included here, but major content groups will be added.

Practical creative Tools

While most client mods are focused on survival or pvp, we don't want to neglect the creative community. Tools like the NBT Editor make it easy to manipulate item properties, and the Armorstand Editor can be used to easily create custom armor stands.

Easy server management

We've created a user-friendly way to create local servers and install your preferred server software - all in one simple UI. These servers are exactly like any other server and run your favorite plugins and mods (depending on the software of your choosing). If you want to, you can also choose to install your own server software later on.

Host worlds for everyone

Welcoming: Oasis! Our home-made supertool to publish your singleplayer worlds to the world wide web and allow your friends to join in - they don't even need to have Cactus installed. You can also whitelist your world to prevent uninvited visitors from entering.

As this feature is still in development it is not available for everyone, but we are constantly improving it working to release it as soon as possible.

FAQ

How do I install Cactus?

Cactus is a Mod made for the FabricMC loader. To use it, you have to download and install FabricMC to your launcher, or use any third-party launcher like CurseForge or Modrinth. If the mod isn't available in the launcher of your choosing, just add the JAR file of the mod to the mods directory. Cactus requires the Fabric API to work.

We do not support Forge!

Does Cactus work on any Server?

Yes, Cactus is made to work on every normal server. Since the mod only affects the client (your game), all normal servers should be compatible with it.

Some modules in Cactus display a warning when enabling them, categorizing that module as one that could be unwanted by some servers. For example, this includes Auto-Top (Wire assistant) and Inventory Tabs.

Does Cactus boost my Frames?

No. Cactus is generally a unique toolkit mod and is not meant to boost frames. But since Cactus is a Fabric mod, you can install other mods, including performance-boosting mods like Sodium. I recommend also using Lithium, Immediately Fast and LazyDFU.

Will Cactus be available for version..

Generally, we are trying to keep Cactus up-to-date with Minecraft. Starting from 1.20.1, we'll try to make a version available for every new major version soon, but versions older than that are not supported and there are no plans to support those in the future.
