Acceptance of Terms
By using any of the Cactus services, including the mod, Discord bot, and website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service in their entirety. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us on Discord.
Mod Usage
CactusMod is free to use as long as users comply with Mojang's End User License Agreement (EULA). You are allowed to decompile the mod for personal inspection or learning purposes. However:
- You may not use any part of CactusMod's source code - whether copied, modified, or adapted - in any other project, regardless of license type. All rights are reserved.
- It is strictly forbidden to rebrand CactusMod, extract individual features or use them in a derivative or standalone project.
- While you are welcome to develop and distribute add-ons that depend on or extend CactusMod - such as new HUD elements, integrations with other mods, or optional modules using our public API - you may not reuse, copy or incorporate any part of CactusMod's actual source code in a separate project without our explicit written permission. This includes both direct reuse (e.g. copying utility methods or systems from the source) and derivative works (e.g. adapting core features or internals into another mod). For example, creating an addon that hooks into CactusMod to add a new chat feature is allowed, but copying CactusMod's chat code into your own mod is not. Similarly, releasing a tool that requires CactusMod to be installed is fine, but extracting and repackaging parts of CactusMod's features (like the HUD or config system) into your own project is prohibited.
Addons and Modifications
You are welcome to create and publish addons that interact with or extend CactusMod. However:
- Modifications to the core mod itself are only allowed for your own personal use and are not allowed to be redistributed in any form whatsoever.
- Redistributing modified or rebranded copies of CactusMod is strictly prohibited without our express written consent.
Usage Restrictions
Users may not misuse the mod and / or resources created for Cactus for commercial or malicious purposes (for example selling resources and / or exentions to those). Monetized videos on platforms like YouTube are allowed. In case you aren't about a specific case here, join our Discord or contact us via. EMail.
Cactus services include both public APIs and internal systems that support our mod and related features. While public endpoints (such as our documented API) are available for legitimate third-party use, all other backend systems - including those used by CactusMod for authentication, communication, or configuration - are considered semi-internal and are not intended for direct access outside of official entry points or client.
- You may not use, spoof, or connect to non-public Cactus services using unofficial tools, clients, bots, or scripts.
- Attempting to mimic official client behavior (e.g. pretending to be CactusMod or faking requests) is strictly prohibited.
- While we allow inspection of mod traffic for learning or transparency purposes, actual usage of our non-public endpoints must only occur via the official CactusMod client or other explicitly authorized tools.
- Abuse, disruption, or unauthorized access to backend services may result in a service ban or legal action, depending on severity.
These restrictions are in place to ensure stability, protect user data, and prevent abuse of systems not designed for public interaction.
Updates and Opt-Out
We reserve the right to update these Terms at our discretion. Users will be provided with a 1-week (7 days) period to opt out of the changes by discontinuing use. The period begins as soon as we release a blog post stating the details about the changes.
Monitoring and Data collection
Cactus may monitor players using the mod connected to its services. Information retained includes UUID, first use time, username, and chat messages sent to Cnet (our global chat system). Additionally, crash logs involving the mod may be collected, when manually enabled by the user, for issue resolution.
Data collected is used solely within the scope of these terms. Cactus employs an internal caching mechanism for temporary data storage, automatically clearing cached information after a designated period.
By accessing this website your IP-address as well as the route you're accessing is logged to a log file on our server. We collect these logs to filter out potential malicous activity and spam to our website.
Liability and Legal Actions
The mod owner as well as its developers is not held liable for individuals or servers violating these terms. Non-compliance may result in users being banned from Cactus services, and severe violations may lead to legal actions.
